Daniel Burr was born in Alaska and moved to American Fork, Utah as a child. He considers American Fork his home. After completing a two year mission in Viña del Mar, Chile, he graduated from Brigham Young University. He then attended dental school at Creighton University in Omaha Nebraska graduating Summa Cum Laude and received recognition for graduating with the highest grade point average in his class. He completed his Endodontic residency at the University of Washington in Seattle, Washington. In September 2000, he started his dental practice in American Fork. In his spare time he enjoys teaching a pre-dental class at Brigham Young University. He serves on the board of directors for Share a Smile, a group which provides charity dental care for the needy in Utah County and throughout the world. He has served as president of the Utah Association of Endodontists, and president of the Timpanogos District Dental Society.
